A nurse and a mother who grew up with addiction in her bloodline. She was seven years sober when she sat down to tell it.
Olivia grew up with addiction on both sides of her family. It started with Oxy in high school and ended with heroin, stolen checks, and using alongside her own father.
She talks about what heroin actually feels like, why the descent was so fast, and how gambling almost took her out after she had already got clean from drugs.
Today she is raising her kids in recovery. We spend the back half of the conversation on how she plans to talk to them about all of it.
