01How this site treats cookies
Most of what this site stores is not a cookie at all: it is a small note your own browser keeps, so that the site looks the way you left it. It is treated here exactly as a cookie would be, because the law covers both.
- Nothing that needs your consent runs before you give it. Analytics do not load, and no analytics identifier is created, until you press Accept.
- Refusing is one press, in the same place, styled the same way as accepting. There is no second screen to get through and no pre-ticked box.
- There is no cookie wall. Refuse everything and the entire site still works, with nothing withheld.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a refusal of analytics and do not ask again.
- We do not use advertising cookies, we do not run trackers for anybody else, and there is no advertising network on this site.
02Strictly necessary
These are exempt from consent because the site cannot do what you asked of it without them. They stay in your browser and are never sent anywhere.

03Preferences
These remember a display choice you made yourself. They hold no identifier, they are readable only by this site, and nothing about them leaves your device, which is why they are on before you are asked: they exist only to do the thing you just pressed.

04Analytics, only if you accept
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which episodes reach people. It tells us that a page was opened, roughly which region it was opened from, and what kind of device and browser opened it. It is never told your name or anything you typed into a form.
None of the following exists in your browser unless you accepted analytics. Withdraw consent and we stop loading Google Analytics; you can delete the cookies it already set using your browser's own controls.

05The episode players
Episode pages show a still image, not a player. The YouTube player is only loaded at the moment you press play, and it is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com, which is Google's reduced-tracking domain.
If you never press play, YouTube sets nothing and learns nothing about your visit. If you do press play, Google may set its own cookies for the player and for measuring playback, under Google's privacy policy rather than ours. Pressing play is the consent for that, and it is why the still sits there until you do.
06What this site does not do
- No advertising or retargeting cookies, and no advertising network.
- No social media tracking pixels. The social links in the footer are ordinary links, not embeds.
- No fingerprinting, and no session recording or heatmap tools.
- No selling or sharing of anything for advertising, to anyone, ever.
- No fonts fetched from Google. The typefaces are served from our own domain, so loading a page does not tell Google you were here.
07Changing your mind
Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. It opens the same choice you were given the first time, shows what you currently have set, and takes effect immediately. Withdrawing is as easy as giving it, which is the point.
You can also clear or block storage in your browser's own settings, or turn on Global Privacy Control, which we honour automatically. The site is built to work with all of it blocked.
