What his wife put in the pizza box changed everything
A New Yorker with a bookie in his pocket. On 23 October 2021 he was locked in a bathroom with a plan to end his life.
Eugene had a bookie in his pocket. Sports betting, casinos, roulette at eighteen, and a family history of compulsive gambling he only found out about in his twenties.
By the twenty-third of October 2021 he was crying in a locked bathroom with a plan to end his life. Instead he drove home and told his wife everything.
She kicked him out. Eight days into recovery she called him home and handed him a pizza box. What was inside it is the reason this episode exists.
